The simple path to destruction
"For nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, nor is anything secret that will not be known and come to light."
Self-Portrait with Magic Scene; Pieter van Laer; ca. 1635–37
“Dear God, if you'll get me through this trouble quickly, I'll follow you forever...”
“Dear boy, you have a lot to learn and this trouble is part of the process.”
“Dear God, I’d prefer a way around.”
“Dear boy, my way is straight and narrow and filled with peril, but I will take care of you.”
“Dear God, isn’t that you also… over there with the horns offering a much more comfortable way around?”
“Dear Boy, never lie to yourself… AND DON’T CALL WHAT IS WRETCHED HOLY!”
“Dear God, right! Sorry! Steady as she goes then… Thanks for the warning:)”
I have been there. More than once. Stories for another time but suffice it to say that I eventually learned what Bible readers know: It’s not the one seeking faith who will be given whatever is asked, but the one who has it already. And how does one acquire Faith? Well, not by the witness of signs and wonders. My best answer might be: by trusting in The Lord in all circumstances. If I trust Him to give me faith to persevere, He will… and if it is His will for any work to be done along side my own will, which can only be to seek and do His will, then He will inspire in me the obedience and humility necessary for my participation. I have not experienced this but I do believe that at times He does act wondrously through us… for his glory and for the benefit of all present. I also believe that only the humblest servant would ever be positioned along side the signs and works of God. He doesn’t need us to accomplish any task but He may choose to bless us and those who love us by aligning our wills to His before He acts. Remember Moses. Remember Peter. Remember Jesus. These acted in accordance with the Father’s will, not their own. Jesus taught this. Of course, many signs and wonders are done without the Father’s will and without His power by vain “leaders”, and often fraudulently still in His name. They will tell you that “god’s way is the comfortable way!” and that “god’s way is the way of success and wonder and beauty!” but they wont tell you that their “god” is not your God. These are the ministers of the New Age. These are the practitionners of the “doctrines of demons”. They are proud, impatient, greedy, lust filled men and women. You can discern their desires. Perhaps you can even see the darkness of their souls through the windows of their eyes. Power mad magicians performing loveless deeds with illusory effects causing no lasting healing or transformation of heart. “How dark the darkness” indeed. By whose power do these work? It doesn’t matter… who ever remembers the works or the names of the failed fraud? Deceiver (Rev12:9) is sufficient. Cheers!
Wow! You must have listened to the conversations I've had with God! When I grow up, I want to know what you know!
